My thoughts after my 50th TikTok video

Something I never thought I’d say….

But personally I find myself proud of this. Before I get into it, here’s some stats:

📊 The Data

“In 50 videos, here’s what’s happened:

  • 🎥 50 uploads

  • 👀 30,000+ views

  • ❤️ 1614 likes

The danger with stats especially on a platform like TikTok is you can chase them. My purpose for my TikTok was to build a following of people that wanted to improve how they lead teams through coaching. You know reach more people!

Not to get x amount of followers or views. And yet, here I am talking about the stats. And in reality I’d be lying if I didn’t admit I look at them every time I post.

💡 Reflections & Insight

Sometimes it’s helpful and I’d ask questions like:

“Why did that post get more views and engagement was it because of x”

Or

“This felt like a good video, strong topic, why didn’t it get much engagement”

Answers I’m still exploring and ones I suspect I’ll be exploring for a lot longer still.

Posting everyday has kept me consistent. Everyday, whilst I’m walking my dog, I post a video. A video on any topic around improvement, coaching or leadership. Anything that’s spark curiosity in me, or from an experience I’ve had.

To be consistent is hard, but creating the right structures, routines and with planning it feels like a real achievement and although I may not be getting as much engagement as I hope for, I continue to post and I will continue to post furthermore.

I never thought I’d get comfortable in front of the camera and yet, here I am bringing more energy to the camera which is what, people that know me, know that I have a lot of.

💯“You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to start and don’t over think it.

🏁 It’s a start, and a start that I can build on. I have more to say, and more insights to give. I will continue to remain positive and consistent and see what happens!
